Nebraska, 1890s. A boy named Davey runs off with Frankie, a blind girl he rescued from a cruel father, and together they wander the prairie learning to survive. Thirty years later, Davey is a farmer with a gift for spinning yarns — and radio has just arrived, pulling voices out of thin air. A fast-talking promoter puts him on the airwaves, and suddenly thousands of listeners are hanging on his stories of the old days. Then Frankie walks back into his life. A play about memory, storytelling, and the strange magic of voices traveling through wooden boxes across the wide-open dark.
