Coal Creek Community Theater presents

The Last Night of Ballyhoo

by Alfred Uhry
Directed by Russ Orr

Atlanta, December 1939. Gone with the Wind is about to premiere, and Hitler has just invaded Poland. And the Freitag family — German Jews so assimilated they've got a Christmas tree in the parlor — is worried about one thing: who's taking Lala to Ballyhoo, the social event of the season. Then Uncle Adolph brings home his new employee, a Brooklyn-born Jew named Joe Farkas, and suddenly the family has to confront the prejudices they didn't know they had — against their own people. From the author of Driving Miss Daisy, a Tony Award-winning comedy about who gets to belong, and what it costs to pretend you already do.

Run Time - 2 hours and 15 minutes with one 15-minute intermission
