Coal Creek Community Theater presents
Angel STreet
by Patrick Hamilton
Directed by Dan Schock
London, 1880. Bella Manningham is losing her mind — at least that's what her husband keeps telling her. Things go missing, then turn up where she swears she already looked. She hears footsteps from the locked floor upstairs. And every night, the gaslight dims for no reason at all. Her husband is patient, concerned, solicitous. He reminds her that her mother died insane. Then one evening, while Mr. Manningham is out, a retired detective knocks on the door with questions about a murder that happened in this very house fifteen years ago. The play that gave us the word "gaslighting" — and still knows exactly how to make your skin crawl.
