Coal Creek Community Theater presents

The Foreigner

by Larry Shue
Directed by Stuart Barr

A fishing lodge in rural Georgia. Charlie Baker is so painfully shy he can't bear the thought of making conversation with strangers. So his friend tells everyone Charlie is a foreigner who doesn't speak a word of English. It works beautifully. Too beautifully. Suddenly people are saying all kinds of things in front of him - secrets, schemes, confessions - assuming he can't understand a word. He understands everything. What happens next is pure farce, the kind where the good guys win, the bad guys get what's coming to them, and one very quiet man finds his voice.
