Coal Creek Theater of Louisville presents
The Fantasticks
Book & Lyrics by Tom Jones
Music by Harvey Schmidt
Directed by Jim Kimbrough
Two neighboring fathers want their children to fall in love. So naturally, they pretend to hate each other and build a wall between their houses. It works — young Matt and Luisa are smitten. But once the obstacles disappear, so does the romance. They'll have to go out into the world, get hurt, and find their way back to each other. Based on a play by Edmond Rostand and staged with little more than a platform and a cardboard moon, this deceptively simple fable ran for 42 years off-Broadway — the longest-running musical in history. Try to remember a show this timeless.
Run Time - 2 hours with one 15-minute intermission
