Coal Creek Theater of Louisville presents
Epic Proportions
by David Crane & Larry Coen
Directed by M. Shane Grant
Set in the 1930s, Epic Proportions tells the story of two brothers, Benny and Phil, who go to the Arizona desert to be extras in the huge Biblical epic Exeunt Omnes. Things move very quickly in this riotous comedy and before you know it, Phil is directing the movie, and Benny is starring in it. To complicate matters further they both fall in love with Louise, the assistant director in charge of the extras. Along the way there are gladiator battles, the Ten Plagues and a cast of thousands portrayed by four other actors.
Run Time – 75 minutes with no intermission

A Spear, A Mace, An Ax, Oh My! Prop master Peg Bolan has made some unusual props for some of Coal Creek Theater's previous productions, like a dead rooster in Dancing at Lughnasa, ten solider boy figurines in And Then There were None, and a burlap bag big enough to stuff an actor in Incorruptible; but a majority of Epic Proportions unusual props had to be made. She could not have done it without the help of Jan Davidson and Jan's husband Greg. Thank you, and thanks to Brian Dowling for finding the swords and to my patient husband who puts up with paint brushes drying by the sink, sawdust and Styrofoam tracked through the house and is always willing to help with carrying strange things to my car. Along with Director, Shane Grant, our talented cast and dedicated crew of Epic Proportions, Peg hopes you will enjoy this fabulously funny show!
