Somewhere behind the Iron Curtain, 1960-something. Walter Hollander, a caterer from Newark, takes a photo of a sunset. Unfortunately, the sunset is over a military installation, and now the Communist police think his family are spies. They flee to the American Embassy, but the ambassador is gone and his hopelessly incompetent son is in charge. Add a priest who's been hiding upstairs for six years and you've got an international incident no one is qualified to handle.
