Coal Creek Theater of Louisville presents

the World Premiere of

The Legacy of Baker Street

by Brian Dowling
Directed by Dan Schock

London, 1930s. The gaslight era is over, the Great Depression has settled in, and the legendary consulting detective of 221B Baker Street is long dead. But Dr. Watson left behind two daughters—Felicity and Charlotte—raised on stories of impossible cases and trained in the science of deduction. When a new criminal mastermind plunges the city into terror, the sisters must step out of their father's shadow and into an adventure of their own. Armed with sharp minds, sharper instincts, and methods inherited from the best, they'll prove that some legacies are meant to be carried forward. A new chapter in a very old story—and you'll see it here first.

Run Time - 2 hours with one 15-minute intermission

When COVID-19 shut down live theater, we turned to streaming for our 2021 season. We tested the platform with a live 12-minute scene from ‘The Legacy of Baker Street’, shown above. The play returned as a full-length, live production in 2023.

Cast and Creative Team

  • Biz works at several community theaters in Colorado. She’s been a set builder, scenic painter, prop builder, and pretty much everything else over the years. She would like to thank her HUSBAND Gov Landrum for putting up with theater craziness for all of their lives.

  • Kathleen has costumed many shows at CCTL. Favorite mainstage shows have been Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, And Then There Were None, Dancing at Lughnasa, and The Importance of Being Earnest for which she won Best Costume Design along with Best Costume Design for The Savannah Sipping Society and a Louie for Epic Proportions last season. Kathy also won a Costume Design Award at the Colorado Community Theatre Coalition Festival for Working. Kathy would like to thank the cast and crew for their dedication and cooperation. She hopes you enjoy our show and "thanks for supporting local theater!"

  • Jan has been on stage here at CCTL as Irma in Picnic, Penny in You Can't Take It With You; and backstage for many shows. She was recently awarded a Louie for Best Stage Manager for last season's award winning Of Mice and Men. This time around she is happy to work again with Kathleen on costumes. CCTL is a theater company of supportive and hard-working folks. It's a privilege to be here. Enjoy the show!
