Coal Creek Theater of Louisville presents
Enchanted April
by Matthew Barber
from the Novel by Elizabeth von Arnim
Directed by Kirsten Jorgensen Smith
London, 1922. Lotty Wilton is drowning in dreariness — gray skies, gray marriage, gray life. When she spots an advertisement for an Italian castle "for those who appreciate wisteria and sunshine," she convinces a fellow unhappy housewife to escape with her, recruiting two difficult upper-class women to share the cost. Under the Mediterranean sun, four guarded souls slowly, unexpectedly bloom. Based on Elizabeth von Arnim's beloved novel, this Tony-nominated comedy is pure theatrical sunshine — warm, gentle, and utterly restorative.

Reviews and Testimonials
"‘Enchanted April’ is a wonderful story all on its own, but the acting, direction and design concepts in this production brought it to life in a way that had me smiling the entire show. I didn't want it to end!" - Chelsea R.
"Brava to the four outstanding lead actresses in this play. Each of them did a wonderful job bringing her character to life, a couple of them opening before our eyes like the explosion of flowers that adorned the second act Italian scene. A very enjoyable night of theater." - Brad R.
